Terms and Conditions
Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Home Self Defense Products ("HSDP"). These Terms & Conditions govern purchases made through our website and the use of our products and services. By placing an order with HSDP, you agree to these Terms & Conditions together with other applicable policies posted on our website, including our Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Privacy Policy, and any product-specific notices.
General Terms
HSDP provides products focused on home security, emergency preparedness, outdoor readiness, everyday carry, household safety, personal preparedness, and practical products for the home, vehicle, travel, workplace, and everyday situations.
We make reasonable efforts to provide accurate product descriptions, specifications, photographs, pricing, availability, and other product information. Manufacturers may occasionally modify packaging, colors, specifications, accessories, or product designs without notice. Minor differences that do not materially change a product's intended purpose or functionality may occur.
HSDP reserves the right to correct errors, inaccuracies, or omissions and to update product information, pricing, availability, or other website content when necessary.
Order Acceptance
Submitting an order does not necessarily constitute final acceptance of that order.
HSDP reserves the right to review, refuse, limit, or cancel an order when reasonably necessary. Reasons may include suspected fraud, payment problems, incorrect customer information, pricing or inventory errors, product availability, or other circumstances that prevent us from completing an order.
If HSDP cancels an order after payment has been collected, the applicable amount will be refunded.
Pricing & Availability
Product prices and availability may change without notice.
Although HSDP works to maintain accurate inventory information, an item may occasionally become unavailable after an order has been submitted. If we are unable to fulfill an order, we may contact the customer regarding an available alternative, expected delay, partial fulfillment where appropriate, or refund. If partial fulfillment is offered, any refund for unavailable items will be issued automatically unless the customer requests an alternative.
We reserve the right to correct pricing errors. If a material pricing error affects an order, HSDP may contact the customer before fulfillment or cancel and refund the affected item or order.
Shipping & Delivery
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address when placing an order.
Delivery dates and transit times are estimates and are not guaranteed unless expressly stated otherwise. Delivery may be affected by carrier delays, weather, holidays, address problems, service interruptions, or other circumstances outside HSDP's reasonable control.
Customers should review tracking information and delivered packages promptly and contact HSDP as soon as possible if there is a delivery problem.
Additional shipping information and procedures are provided in our Shipping Policy.
Returns, Refunds & Product Concerns
HSDP wants customers to contact us whenever there is a problem with an order.
If you receive an incorrect, damaged, defective, incomplete, or otherwise problematic product, or if you are dissatisfied with your purchase, please contact HSDP promptly so that we have an opportunity to review the situation and determine an appropriate solution.
Returns and refunds are subject to our posted Return & Refund Policy.
Customers should not return merchandise without following HSDP's return procedures when authorization or specific return instructions are required. Unauthorized returns may delay processing or may not qualify for a refund where permitted by applicable law and our posted policies.
Certain products may have specific return requirements because of their condition, use, hygiene considerations, manufacturer requirements, customization, clearance status, or other limitations disclosed at the time of purchase or in our Return & Refund Policy.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to eliminate or restrict consumer rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
Customer Concerns, Payment Disputes & Chargebacks
HSDP takes customer concerns seriously. If there is a problem with your purchase, we ask that you contact us promptly so that we have an opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
Before initiating a chargeback or payment dispute concerning product quality, a return, refund, delivery concern, incorrect merchandise, damaged merchandise, or another issue that HSDP can reasonably address, we ask that you first contact HSDP and provide us with a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
A chargeback should not be used as a substitute for contacting HSDP, requesting a return or refund, or following our published return and refund procedures.
If a payment dispute or chargeback is initiated, HSDP reserves the right to respond to the dispute and provide relevant documentation to the payment processor, card network, financial institution, or other appropriate party. Documentation may include order records, payment information, customer communications, tracking information, proof of shipment or delivery, return records, refund records, applicable website policies, and other information relevant to the transaction or dispute.
A customer who receives merchandise and subsequently receives a chargeback, payment reversal, or refund is not automatically entitled to retain both the merchandise and the returned funds when return of the merchandise is legally and reasonably required.
When appropriate and permitted by applicable law, HSDP may require merchandise associated with a refunded or reversed transaction to be returned according to return instructions provided by HSDP.
Nothing in this section limits a customer's lawful rights regarding unauthorized transactions, billing errors, merchandise not delivered as agreed, or other rights provided by applicable consumer protection laws.
Fraudulent Transactions & Abuse
HSDP reserves the right to investigate suspected fraudulent transactions, payment abuse, false claims, unauthorized transactions, misuse of promotional offers, or other activity reasonably believed to involve fraud or abuse.
Orders may be delayed, reviewed, or canceled when additional verification is reasonably necessary.
Where appropriate and permitted by law, HSDP may retain and provide relevant transaction documentation to payment processors, financial institutions, shipping carriers, insurers, law enforcement agencies, or other appropriate parties.
Product Use & Customer Responsibility
Customers are responsible for using products safely, responsibly, and according to their intended purpose and all manufacturer instructions, warnings, maintenance requirements, and safety information.
Customers should inspect products before use and discontinue use of any product that appears damaged, defective, improperly assembled, or otherwise unsafe.
Products should not be modified or used in a manner inconsistent with manufacturer instructions.
HSDP cannot guarantee that any particular home security, preparedness, emergency, outdoor, household, everyday carry, or related product will prevent loss, injury, property damage, emergency situations, or other unwanted events.
Home Security & Safety Products
Home security and safety products are intended to supplement responsible security and safety practices and should not be considered a guarantee against burglary, theft, property damage, unauthorized entry, accidents, or other events.
Customers are responsible for proper installation, placement, testing, maintenance, and use of products according to manufacturer instructions.
When professional installation, inspection, or maintenance is recommended by a manufacturer, customers should follow those recommendations.
Emergency Preparedness Products
Emergency preparedness products are intended to assist individuals and households with planning and readiness for emergencies, travel, outdoor activities, power outages, severe weather, and other unexpected situations.
Customers are responsible for reviewing expiration dates, storage requirements, maintenance schedules, replacement intervals, manufacturer instructions, and other applicable product information.
Emergency preparedness products should be incorporated into a broader preparedness plan appropriate to the customer's individual circumstances.
Outdoor & Everyday Carry Products
Outdoor, travel, vehicle, household, and everyday carry products should be used according to manufacturer instructions and for their intended purposes.
Customers are responsible for selecting products appropriate for their intended activity and environment and for inspecting equipment before use.
Product performance can be affected by environmental conditions, wear, maintenance, storage, improper use, and other factors outside HSDP's control.
Product Warranties
Some products sold by HSDP may include a manufacturer warranty or other warranty coverage. Warranty terms vary by manufacturer and product.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, manufacturer warranties are governed by the applicable manufacturer's warranty terms and conditions.
Customers experiencing a warranty-related issue are encouraged to contact HSDP within 30 days of discovering the issue so that we can assist in coordinating with the manufacturer where possible.
HSDP does not independently extend or modify a manufacturer's warranty unless expressly stated in writing.
Product Information & Manufacturer Changes
HSDP sells products manufactured by various third parties. Product specifications, dimensions, packaging, accessories, colors, instructions, certifications, testing information, and other details may be supplied by manufacturers or distributors.
Manufacturers may occasionally make product or packaging changes without advance notice. HSDP will make reasonable efforts to update website information when material changes become known to us.
Manufacturer names, trademarks, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.
Intellectual Property
Website content created or owned by HSDP, including original text, graphics, photographs, logos, page designs, and other materials, may be protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property laws.
HSDP-owned content may not be reproduced, distributed, republished, or commercially exploited without authorization except where otherwise permitted by law.
Third-party trademarks, manufacturer names, product images, and other third-party intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners where applicable.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, HSDP shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from improper product use, failure to follow manufacturer instructions or warnings, unauthorized product modification, improper installation, improper maintenance, or circumstances outside HSDP's reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
HSDP is committed to resolving customer concerns fairly and promptly. Before pursuing any legal action, customers are encouraged to contact HSDP and provide a reasonable opportunity to resolve the dispute informally.
Any legal action arising out of or relating to these Terms & Conditions or a purchase from HSDP shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the State of Colorado, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Nothing in this section limits a customer's lawful rights regarding unauthorized transactions, billing errors, or other rights provided by applicable consumer protection laws.
