Indoor Barking Dog Security Alarm with Through-Wall Radar Detection & Remote Control
Add an extra layer of awareness around your home, office or business with the Safety Technology Barking Dog Alarm. This indoor security device uses radar-based microwave sensing technology to detect movement on the opposite side of many common walls, allowing the alarm to react to someone approaching outside before they enter the building.
Instead of requiring an outdoor motion sensor, the Barking Dog Alarm is placed safely indoors and can detect movement through many non-metal building materials. When motion is detected, the unit can produce the sound of a barking dog, an alarm or a chime depending on the selected operating mode.
The updated model offers nine sound options, including multiple barking dog sounds, along with adjustable Low, Medium and High sensor settings. Eight volume levels allow the sound output to be adjusted up to a maximum of approximately 120 dB.
A wireless remote control makes it easy to arm or disarm the system, change operating modes and activate the panic alarm. The remote has a range of more than 50 feet under suitable conditions and can operate through many walls.
One of the most useful features of this alarm is its ability to detect motion through common building materials such as wood, brick, cement, stucco and ordinary glass. However, radar performance can be reduced or blocked by metal, including metal walls, metal studs, certain coated or tinted glass and other metal-containing construction materials.
For customers who want the alarm primarily to detect movement outside the home, placement and sensitivity are especially important. Position the indoor unit near an exterior wall facing the area you want to monitor. Because the radar detection field can extend in more than one direction, movement inside the home may also trigger the alarm if someone enters the active detection area. Start with the Low sensitivity setting and test the location from both inside and outside. Repositioning the alarm or changing its sensitivity may help reduce unwanted indoor activation.
The Barking Dog Alarm operates from the included AC adapter for everyday use. Eight AA batteries (not included) can provide temporary backup operation, such as during a power interruption.
IMPORTANT: The Barking Dog Alarm itself is designed for INDOOR placement. Do not install or expose the alarm unit outdoors.
