If you are less than satisfied with any of our products within 30/90 days from the receipt of your items please call us toll free at (888) 747-2011 to secure a Return Authorization (RA) number. All returns must have a Return Authorization (RA) number. After you are issued a Return Authorization (RA) number you will receive an email with the return instructions.

No restocking fee is charged for the items returned in re-sealable original manufacturer condition. Shipping fees are non refundable.

We must charge 30% restocking fee for the following items:

  • Taser® (stun guns require no restocking fee)
  • Metal Detectors
  • Spy Cameras
  • Spy Camera Detectors
  • Bug Detectors
  • GPS Tracking

When you order $99.00 or more of product, you not only get free shipping, we will ship your order the same day.

To qualify for same day shipping, your order must be placed and received no later than 12PM PST. All orders not received by 12PM PST will ship the next business day.

At this time we do not offer shipping for Saturday or Sunday.

1 month -3 Year Warranties to Lifetime

Home Self Defense offers a limited warranty from 1month - 3 years on many of our products with some that have Lifetime!

Some products have manufacturer's warranties that are much longer. Products with expiration dates, like pepper spray, have a warranty that is governed by the expiration date.

Unless otherwise specified on our product details page, Home Self Defense will repair its products with new or rebuilt parts, free of charge, in the U.S.A. from 1 - 3 years from the date of original purchase in the event of a defect in materials or workmanship. The product must be shipped back to Home Self Defense for repair in original packing. Shipping charges for all returns are at the expense of the customer. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser. A purchase receipt or other proof of date of original purchase will be required before warranty performance is rendered. Home Self Defense emails all customers an invoice and which is sufficient documentation to submit for warranty coverage.

This warranty only covers failures due to defects in materials or workmanship, which occur during normal use. It does not cover damage which occurs in shipment (covered separately) or failures which are caused by products not supplied by Home Self Defense or failures which result from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, mishandling, misapplication, alteration, modification, or commercial use of the product, or service by anyone other than Home Self Defense, or damage that is attributable to acts of God.

Limits and Exclusions

There are no other express warranties except as listed above.

If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with any product you have ordered, simply contact us at Support@HomeSelfDefenseProducts.com within 30 days from the date your order was placed. We will be happy to send you a replacement, exchange the item or give you a prompt and courteous refund or credit, which ever you prefer, less only shipping & handling costs. All returns must have a Return Authorization Number which we will approve and issue to you directly prior to you returning the goods to us upon a qualified return. Carefully repack the item with all instructions and documentation in its original container and ship it back Prepaid UPS or insured US mail. We will refund shipping costs on items we determine to be defective or for shipping errors on our part. Should a package be refused or returned to us unopened, the customer shall be charged a restocking fee of 15% of the order amount and/or pay shipping cost to reship out the order. Please Note: Depending on manufacturing packaging, some food and water products cannot be returned to be re-sold according to law, therefore refunds for food and water products will not be issued. Any order placed on a credit/debit card that is canceled before it ships out will have a 8% cancellation fee deducted from the refund. If the order has shipped before we were able to cancel it, then the return policy mentioned above will be applied.

If within three days after buying one of our products you find a lower price for the same retail product on-line, we will refund the difference on the spot!

TASER® Background Check

To promote responsible ownership and prevent misuse, the TASER® cannot be shipped and will not function till the owner completes a background check. Please see details below to complete the streamlined background check. Purchasers must be 18 years or older.

The background process includes the following steps.
  1. Enter Drivers License # and State Issued
  2. Enter last four digits Social Security Number
  3. Enter date of birth
This information is provide directly to Taser and not given to any governmental agency. It is provided to law enforcement officials only for tracking stolen units and for preventing criminal use. We appreciate your help in reducing crime.
